The whole room is fully ablaze when the fire turns blue and even hotter. And I still keep my hands on the rune, ignoring the sizzling of my flesh. After a while I notice the blue, roaring flames on the other side of the window. At the edge of unconsciousness, I listen to the screams of people as they are taken by the Inferno.

Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors.
If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website.

What if you were given another chance? Another life? What would you do with it?
Meet Joe. When Joe died, he did not expect a screen to appear inviting him to join the world of Illuminaria. By accepting, he joins a fantasy RPG-like world, with stats, skills, monsters, and quests.
While this is a progression LitRPG tale, it focuses far more on plot than progression. It is written to read more like a cozy first person D&D game than a system-driven race to phenomenal cosmic power.
I released a previous version of this story a while ago. This version has many of the same plot points but it has been reworked.
Expected:
• A slow-burn progression system. The MC takes a while to find his footing
• A healer-focused MC who grows into a chimeric being
• Injury and disease play a large part in this story
• Lots of world-building
• Chapter lengths: 1500 - 2000 words
Release Schedule: Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays
Where were you, the day life as we knew it ended, and magic returned to Earth in a rush? When goblins, undead, and dragons were restored? When the electric grid went down for the last time, and gunpowder stopped exploding?
Selena Serrano was in school; med school, to be precise, and Human Anatomy class if you wanted to be even more specific. When magic returned it woke things which ought to have remained sleeping - like the cadavers her class was supposed to be dissecting...
To survive this new, changed Earth, Selena will need to become more than she had been. She'll have to understand magic, harness it, and in the process, she'll become the Accidental Necromancer.
Welcome to the Magipocalypse. Come right in! We have zombies...
Jayke Cipher was, to his limited knowledge, one of the last people alive.
The apocalypse was not one that came slowly. When it struck Earth, it came swiftly. The monstrosities that roamed the outside world became an unavoidable hobby of Jayke's. Working from within a heavily defended compound, surveillance cameras and a plethora of subject material only cultivated an interest in strange creatures.
Survival became lonely. Sanity was kept by indulging offhand desires, fulfilling flights of fancy when reasonable.
When the compound is breached and all other options exhausted his only option becomes the pod. A mysterious capsule intended for virtual reality. Its producer, in light of the apocalypse, had released early. Months back he had ignored the last news broadcast regarding the pod and its promises.
He knew it only as suicide. But better that than being eaten alive.
Or: How to train your Panpan, be ridden around by cute girls, and flayed alive while becoming the best there ever was... again.
All Varus the Elder Lich wanted to do was write novels. Not rule the world. Not plumb the depths of the abyss for the magic that would cover the world in eternal night...just... be left alone in peace and quiet to write his novels and give life to his characters. They, to him, were as alive as anyone he remembered from his time as a once mighty hero. And for a very long time, he got his wish...
Until one day a noise from the forest interrupted his work on a key chapter, and in his frustration, he raced out to silence the disturbance and found two small girls huddling beneath a tree and surrounded by hungry wolves.
It was not the last time he would be interrupted...but it would take a long time before he would learn not to mind.
[There is no tag for 'Found Family' or 'Wholesome' but that's what this story is. If you liked 'Killing Slimes for 300 Years' with low stakes wholesome and mild humor, I dare say this is for you]
Char has lived in Jarvin his entire life, subjected to hatred and suspicion for his Half-Orc heritage. He avoids the crowd, only wanting to focus on his blacksmithing and runes. Right up until the girl who is prophesized to save the world decides to become his friend, pulling him into assassination plots, conspiracies, and caves full of giant spiders. Yay?
Elijah is dying.
Afflicted with terminal cancer, his days are limited. So, after deciding to spend his remaining time with family, he boards a plane and sets off for the Pacific Northwest to be with his sister. However, along the way, Earth is transformed by the touch of the World Tree, injecting it with magical Ethera and connecting it to a much larger universe via the System. More importantly for Elijah, it also causes his plane to crash, stranding him on a deserted island. But all is not lost, and through the System, he gains the Druid archetype that may be enough to allow him to survive a hostile environment filled with powerful monsters as well as more mundane threats like starvation and the elements.
Meanwhile, his sister, Alyssa, must survive the collapse of civilization as she knows it while trying to keep her family safe.
Follow them as they try to navigate an apocalyptic world full of game-like stats, classes, and threats aplenty.
Current Release Schedule is one chapter a day (7 days a week) at 11AM CST. Patreon is currently 120+ CHAPTERS AHEAD.
