There is no Rule breaking here. But there is circumventing.

If you’ve read something sort of similar, I wrote a book about three years ago with a similar concept of someone stuck in a time loop a day before the world was changed by a System. it was called Eternity's Unbroken if anyone's curious.

The Prologue is admittedly long, but it’s meant to establish who James was because he’s such a different character by the time the Loop ends.

Also the story takes place in Melbourne Australia, because that’s the city I know the best. Just to avoid any confusion about seasons and whatnot.
