Synopsis

In the Kingdom of Ferris, mages are not born but made. Through the might of magic and arms, Ferris has grown to rule nearly the entire known world. Vayne was not intended to become anything more than an advisor to the nobility. His life was set, and he would live and die as a servant, never knowing anything else.

However, a vision of his future reveals the terrible truth. Vayne would grow to become the strongest mage of his time, only to fall in battle with strange invaders from beyond the impassible oceans.

Will Vayne follow his intended path, hoping to eke out a quiet life of servitude until his world ends? Will he follow his visions, fighting a hopeless battle? Or will he defy fate and forge himself into the greatest mage the world has ever seen?

Longer Summary:
Twelve souls were chosen to expand into the void surrounding the multiverse, and were given a grace period in which they could expand their domains in relative safety. Once that period is up, however, the created universes will be able to interact with each other and other universes...as well as be at the mercy of the Void. I am one of those souls, and it's not easy. Between trying to raise up gods to defend my realm with, guiding mortals, accidentally making a xianxia world, and dealing with my own children, I have my work cut out for me. Now I know why back on Earth gods worked in mysterious, invisible ways. There's just too much to be done.

What to expect: Worldbuilding in the most literal sense, lots of POV's, Xianxia elements, and more. The LitRPG elements are very light, be warned if you're coming in for that.

This is a rewrite of an old story. It's been about six years since I dropped the previous, and having grown as an author and person, I decided to revisit the concept. The old one will be left up, for anyone who wants to revisit it or look at it from a legacy standpoint.

Labeling a sword "Lucky" is taunting both the gods of fortune. The old man who plays dice, and the ladies who do not. There are only two types of soldiers who would touch such a sword. Those who don't know what the symbol meant, but if you've been a soldier long enough you know the symbols. And then there's the sort of soldier who does it anyway.

Those soldiers, if they don't die, stick close to them. Because if they don't die, then they really do have one of the gods of luck on their side. The longer they live, the tighter you stick to them. Until their luck runs out, and if it runs out in battle? Then run. There's no contract or oath worth fighting for in the face of that omen, child. Because if a Soldier of Fortune dies, then either the Old Man is rolling his dice or the Ladies are clipping their threads.

And if they're working together? Then you can't run far or fast enough, because the web is woven and the dice are loaded.
