A Dungeon’s Survival
Connie Aldman’s life wasn’t good, but it was simple. At one point she had aspired to be someone and do some good in the world. She lost sight of those desires along with her best friend and her legs. Afterward, her life had come to revolve around two things: sleeping her problems away and drowning out her misery and self-loathing with video games.
All of that changed when she was ripped away from that life by a hero summoning ritual. Now, with her only alternative being death, she is forced to do that good she once aspired to do, her only problem being that that, “good,” means killing people to fuel her own growth. That hero summoning ritual was only used to seal a slightly more powerful soul inside of a Dungeon Core, after all.
Will she be able to grow her Dungeon to be one of the strongest in the world in order to save it from its approaching demise, or will the mercenaries hired by greedy alchemists, saboteurs from neighboring countries, shady organizations acting outside of the law, and unhappy higher-ups of the Adventurer’s Guild get their way and harvest her Dungeon Core for their own short-sighted gain? Or, maybe that pact she sneakily altered with the Fairy Council will come back to bite her first.
Regardless, armed with her wits and misdirection, the time has come for her to put all that video game knowledge she acquired while distracting herself from the harsh realities of the world to the test, and she might just learn to put the pains of the past behind her as well.
I aim to release a two thousand word chapters every Tuesday and Sunday. I am also posting this story on Royal Road.
