Synopsis

A thousand years past, a hero came from another world, defeated the great evil, forged an empire and left the system to the people. Then he left.

Now the system is failing.

Caleb’s village knows the secrets of unlocking some of the empire’s most coveted classes. He longs to be a Blacksmith, but such a class would craft system-recognized equipment, drawing the eye of the empire and its hungry, enslaving legions.

As Caleb wrestles with his choice, an unexpected option appears in the form of a baby dragon seemingly made of iron.

This story takes place 1000 years after the stereotypical isekai protagonist came to a new world, killed the big bad guy, and then tried to use all his earth knowledge to forge a utopia. Eventually, he got bored and left. Now we will follow the exploits of Caleb, a local in this abandoned world as he tries to navigate his way through the failing System and the systems the protagonist left behind.

Not an ideal situation when he himself hasn't been in a great headspace for over a decade now. But hey, at least there's an incredibly expansive litRPG system to keep the both of them entertained, right? That'll fight off the fear of death, surely.
