Uma musumes, sometimes called "horse girls", are born to run. They inherit the names and dreams of otherworldly (real world) creatures. In modern day, they compete in organized race events all over the world.

Uma musumes have supposedly existed for as long as humans have been around.

However, historians cannot answer whether they came before or after humans.

There is one thing, however, that everyone knows; uma musumes have always been female.

For thousands of years this has been the case...

That is until a baby boy with black horse ears and tail was conceived in a rural mountain village in the Philippines.

The reasons for the world having reversed gender roles is explained in CHAPTER 4.
