Synopsis

A light-hearted, humorous LitRPG adventure of monstrous proportions!

Firefighting was tough, but Kevin took pride in it—until a factory fire landed him in a swamp with a monstrous new body and a mountain-sized cube dominating the landscape. Now, survival means more than just putting out fires. With an eldritch horror lurking in the dark, a desperate village in need of a hero, and some rather suspicious orphans causing mischief, Kevin’s got his work cut out for him.

To stand a chance, he’ll have to craft powerful gear, plunder Void Dungeons, and crack open treasure chests like his life depends on it—because it does. Trading bits of his humanity for strength using [Evolution] might be the key to survival, but every choice has a cost. And just when he thinks he’s found allies, the question lingers… friend or foe?

Mysteries unfold, enemies close in, and somewhere along the way, Kevin might just stumble upon a place to call home—if he doesn’t get eaten first.

What to expect:

- Gradual strength progression. Meaningful growth. The MC is a normal guy dumped into the Narutoverse, starts out weak and has to work and struggle for everything he gains.

- "Slow" paced. My writing style is a zoomed-in look camera that follows the protagonist. It might seem slow, but I ensure something is always happening to progress the plot forward.

- Gritty and often bloody fights and actions scenes with a focus on taijutsu—you'll see individual combat, team fights, and large-scale battle.

- A different take on the Narutoverse. The world is full of superhuman mercenaries with liscenes-to-kill—that along with the protagonist's struggles paint the world in a much darker light.

- Additions and expansion to the "chakra" power system. I consider myself a conservative when it comes to adapting the power system—and aim to retain the original feel while highlighting the best parts.

- The Outsider's Resolve version of Narutoverse uses the [Naruto Manga] as the base—with additions from anime, books, and even Boruto (though very less likely).

I am trying to go with a survival/"no modern tech" setting in this one. People from a technologically advanced society are thrown into a world where they can't maintain their tech. They are forced to rely on what the world provides where they have to make do with the limited resources they have and what little of their old technology is still working. Their gene manipulation allows them to have something akin to superpowers, but that doesn't help much against the monsters of their new world. Not sure yet whether sufficiently advanced technology will be discovered later on to count as magic.

It turns more political between the various clans later on.

All characters are +18 including the monsters, who are sapient with the ability to consent. Some scenes have villains committing acts of sexual violence, but there will be no non-consensual sex scenes with the protagonist.

Bonus Chapters have extra-kinky material segregated from the plot to make them skippable if they're not your thing.
