Synopsis

Lord Lucian Villamar left a trail of misery in his wake. His narcissistic lifestyle was sustained by his father, whose presence loomed large over the continent. At every turn, Lucian avoided the consequences of his actions. Instead, he was awarded roles he didn’t deserve, and those more talented than he was were suppressed to grant him opportunities he didn’t appreciate. Lucian was the archetypal entitled rich villain, and for that reason, players and characters within the turn-based strategy RPG War of Four loved nothing more than his brutal downfall.

Now, however, a new soul that enjoyed challenge runs in War of Four has entered that body at a rather poor time—the start of the game. His relationship with his father is frayed. Powerful figures in the four major nations all want to see him dead, or worse. Conspiracies are underway, both by political factions and malevolent powers. And Lucian, devoid of talent, is wholly unprepared for these coming calamities.

As for our protagonist… maybe he can plot a route to survive this challenge run.

First though, Darren, or Lone, or whatever else the weird system claims he's called, has to figure out how to live with his new companion Sofia, for seemingly forever while also just barely managing to survive being stranded on a monster-infested island with a self-proclaimed former-immortal who can see despite being blind, can freely teleport, and who also, of course, seems prone to experiencing bouts of extreme depression.

Not an ideal situation when he himself hasn't been in a great headspace for over a decade now. But hey, at least there's an incredibly expansive litRPG system to keep the both of them entertained, right? That'll fight off the fear of death, surely.
