Synopsis

Over a million years ago, the first human contracted with the first Spirit. Ever since then, Spirit use has become commonplace. Humans used Spirits to carry items and start fires. Eventually, even start wars. Thousands upon thousands of years past and one day, one human did the impossible. He transcended his mortality and ascended to the realm above.

In the present day, the Frie Clan was once a great clan of the Himmel empire. However, a devastating battle ten years ago crippled the clan and their numbers dwindled. To make up for their loss, the upper echelons decided to adopt young orphans and nurture them to become a future pillar of the weakened clan. Shin was one of those orphans.

Although picked up by the Frie Clan, not all is smooth sailing for Shin and the other orphans…

- Gradual strength progression. Meaningful growth. The MC is a normal guy dumped into the Narutoverse, starts out weak and has to work and struggle for everything he gains.
- "Slow" paced. My writing style is a zoomed-in look camera that follows the protagonist. It might seem slow, but I ensure something is always happening to progress the plot forward.
- Gritty and often bloody fights and actions scenes with a focus on taijutsu—you'll see individual combat, team fights, and large-scale battle.
- A different take on the Narutoverse. The world is full of superhuman mercenaries with liscenes-to-kill—that along with the protagonist's struggles paint the world in a much darker light.
- Additions and expansion to the "chakra" power system. I consider myself a conservative when it comes to adapting the power system—and aim to retain the original feel while highlighting the best parts.
- The Outsider's Resolve version of Narutoverse uses the [Naruto Manga] as the base—with additions from anime, books, and even Boruto (though very less likely).

Yes, this is R18, and yes, this has twin love. But, this is not a smut novel, expect there to be mostly plot, psychological aspects, and a spiral into madness as the MC comes to adjust to this world in the first section of the novel. Not to mention the R18 stuff is impossible to happen at the start, read and you'll realise it pretty quickly (a lot of R18 later though). Mad God was my first English novel. I started writing it the end of 2020 and throughout 2021 and 2022, before I even found SH and ported everything over after its completion from WN. It was here that it gained traction; it is here that I met all of you and built a loyal following. Which I am extremely thankful for!

So... As my first work, with evident flaws, I decided it needs a redo. Not a big one, mind you. Just applying the skills I picked up throughout the years and refining them to make it flow better. That is what you see here. I am still working on it, meaning this rewrite, to make the story read even better. Do not expect significant changes to the story; just some tweaks here and there, and possibly some extra chapters where I feel like expanding on it. However, if you read the original Mad God, you already know the story.

P.S.: Please check the tags for more information about the book if you are a new reader. Note that I am not adding the 'Gender Bender' genre to the book. This was already a hot topic previously, but I stand by my original view from back then. Even if people complain about it, it is a reincarnation story and not about bending a character's gender. It is about rebirth, much like in Youjo Senki, which was what inspired me to write this one. And the disappointment in most cultivation books. This is the end of that discussion.
