Synopsis

John was just your average old man. He had always worked hard, had a wife, kids, family. A good life.

Then one day, at a crosswalk, some kids were not paying attention and tried to cross. A truck was barreling down the street and John didn’t hesitate and jumped in front of the kids and threw them out of the way. Along with his back. The truck slammed into him and the world went black.

When he awoke, he was in a circular room, golden and silver lights flashing around the floor. Ten doors were lit up on the wall behind him and a man was on a dais in front of him, head looking up, arms out wide like some type of showman.

“Welcome kids to your new life as a DEN protagonist, you will be competing against other groups in various anime, vide- wait who are you?”

“My name is John, who are you? And what is anime?”

Follow our new protagonist while he ventures into new worlds he had never even heard of before and tries to survive.

Things to note about this novel.

He is an old man, and they didn’t give him a young body, they just did some minor cosmetic and physical changes. He will get some bonuses as he progresses, but he will never be the 18-25 year old ripped MC, even if he replaces a MC who is that way. (But maybe he will be like Silver Fang from OPM, who knows)

He has no idea about anime, or any world he is entering, just some knowledge about life for living for 80 years. I’ll be forcing some canon scenes but there is a reason for it.

MC will be hopping worlds fairly frequently.

He will not be OP out of the gate, he will be training, and recovering, a lot.

This will probably be a slow burn for smut. I plan on keeping the harem down to no more than 2-3 per world as that will be hard enough to keep up with once the story develops. I reserve the right to change my mind on this though =)

The DxD world isn’t for a long time. And no he isn’t replacing Issei.

I try not to spend too much time in each world. Things happen quickly, because I hate writing boring chapters where nothing happens. I describe it as a mix of slow burn and fast paced. Fast paced because of how quickly some of the canon happens, but slow burn because there will be no immense powerups. At the bones this story is a weak to strong adventure. I’ve also read a few fanfictions and try not to copy what they did. I really don’t want to use cheats since jumping between worlds is cheat enough. Becoming insanely strong without immense training just isn’t plausible and quite boring in my book. I reinvent some of the power systems they use, but try to stick to the nature of the story. Also lots of smut.

-While not the first story I've ever written, it is the first erotica I've ever attempted so expect me to be somewhat inexperienced in those areas. Feedback is always appreciated.
-Dark themes, traumatic pasts mixed with lighter moments that will slowly head towards happier waters as Zaren fights against the world he finds himself in.
-Chapters range from 3-7k with occasional long uploads.
-A competent MC with a tortured past doing his best to move forward
-Occasional other POVs from various characters, sometimes not immediately relating to the current characters (though they will always factor in eventually)
-Plenty of smut. Though it isn't the main focus of the story.
-LitRPG elements with less emphasis on number crunching and more on the end results so as to not bog the reader down with numbers and data
-A wide cast of characters, races, skills, classes, etc.

It didn’t really matter, either; he kept us safe, warm, and fed, and in a world like Ruyanei you don’t just turn that down lightly. Especially people like us. Even early on, he was everything we could have asked for in a master, so I guess it’s no surprise that we all chose to follow him.

This story is a repost of a storyline written over on CHYOA. I was recommended to post it elsewhere so as to get more eyes on it, and since I'm always hungry for more feedback, I decided to upload it here as well. Having now exhausted my backlog, my upload schedule will be sporadic, but I do try to ensure my chapters fall between 2.5k and 5k in word count so you'll at least have something to chew on with each new update.

Fair warning: This story contains significant amounts of smut. It began as a smut story, and while it quickly grew beyond that, the sex is still an integral part of it and is explicitly described. Also, it grew out of a choose your own adventure prompt, which on CHYOA was the first chapter of the story. While I adhere to the prompt in most cases, I'm not afraid of changing things if I feel it benefits the story to do so.
