Synopsis

For a long time I didn’t know where he came from, or why, or even really who he was. It didn’t really matter, either; he kept us safe, warm, and fed, and in a world like Ruyanei you don’t just turn that down lightly. Especially people like us. Even early on, he was everything we could have asked for in a master, so I guess it’s no surprise that we all chose to follow him.

Not that it wasn’t dangerous. Being who he is, it was pretty inevitable that he’d have a lot of enemies. But I’ve never once regretted my decision, even with everything that’s happened, and I’m pretty sure everyone else feels the same way.

This story is a repost of a storyline written over on CHYOA. I was recommended to post it elsewhere so as to get more eyes on it, and since I’m always hungry for more feedback, I decided to upload it here as well. Having now exhausted my backlog, my upload schedule will be sporadic, but I do try to ensure my chapters fall between 2.5k and 5k in word count so you’ll at least have something to chew on with each new update.

Fair warning: This story contains significant amounts of smut. It began as a smut story, and while it quickly grew beyond that, the sex is still an integral part of it and is explicitly described. Also, it grew out of a choose your own adventure prompt, which on CHYOA was the first chapter of the story. While I adhere to the prompt in most cases, I’m not afraid of changing things if I feel it benefits the story to do so. You can find links to the three images that make up the prompt at the beginning of the prologue.

First off, I want to thank you for at least giving my story a look. Any interaction is greatly appreciated by me, even if it's something as simple as a cursory glance. I value any and all attention and feedback my story might receive from anyone and everyone!

This is my first story, I'd never even really considered giving writing an attempt but after reading multiple stories on here, I figured I'd give it a try! As such, there may be things I am not aware of or a bit unsure of. That's why I highly value any feedback those of you might have.

As for release schedule. I am sure this is a big thing for everyone.
Releases are now twice a week, Monday and Friday. This will be consistent and always followed unless something happens IRL to force a haitus. Depending on the situation within the story or what is happening there is always the possibility for a 3rd chapter to be released somewhere.

I also want to mention that I work a full time job as well. I consistently work between 50-60 hours a week and sometimes more than that. I consistently work at least one if not two or three 16 hour shifts per week. As such, it's easy for me to get burned out and tired. That's the reason I can't promise 3 chapters every week.

What to expect:
-Overall plot driven with a serious tone
-While not the first story I've ever written, it is the first erotica I've ever attempted so expect me to be somewhat inexperienced in those areas. Feedback is always appreciated.
-Dark themes, traumatic pasts mixed with lighter moments that will slowly head towards happier waters as Zaren fights against the world he finds himself in.
-Chapters range from 3-7k with occasional long uploads.
-A competent MC with a tortured past doing his best to move forward
-Occasional other POVs from various characters, sometimes not immediately relating to the current characters (though they will always factor in eventually)
-Plenty of smut. Though it isn't the main focus of the story.
-LitRPG elements with less emphasis on number crunching and more on the end results so as to not bog the reader down with numbers and data
-A wide cast of characters, races, skills, classes, etc.

-No NTR, incest, furry, or generally taboo kinks

This is a story about interpersonal relationships and inner struggles - a mix of comedy and inner drama. It follows a woman who has realized her own mistakes and doesn't think she can ever be forgiven for them, but who's still determined to try and make up for them. Devilla might be powerful, but there are some problems that can't be solved through magic and might alone.

It's worth noting that while this is a reincarnation tale, it's one where the current life's personality remains. Rather than becoming Jacob, Devilla simply learns from his memories and gains a new perspective. As such, no matter how much those memories have helped her change, Devilla feels that the mistakes she's made are hers alone.
