Xiatoktok has to take over his bank via a bloody coup. Boardroom politics won't cut it when your bank, and your Clan, are run by time-vampires. In a city on the edge of the frontier, in a world balanced between apocalypses. This, of course, means he is responsible for running things when a four way war breaks out around them. Somebody's got to finance the new weapons, right? And the new crops. And, alright, maybe starting a new cult. Espionage. Blackmail. Kidnapping. Fraud. Poisoning. Getting bullied by your wife into taking a concubine. Launching IPO's based on ancient, presumed lost biotechnology. And, of course, surviving his family. Good thing he's a time-vampire too, or he might be really worried.
He would sell his soul to escape the slums. Nobody's buying.
Truth Medici has to fight every step of the way to get out of the Harban slums. If he fails, his parents will sell him and his siblings to the brothels and gangsters. The slums are short of everything except cruelty. But it doesn't have to be that way. The Starbrite corporation offers wealth, power, a dignified life to those blessed enough to make it through their brutal selection process. The truly driven can even get access to the System Astrologica. The System that can turn an ordinary person into a Demigod. In a world where angels and demons are hired help, "Demigod" is achievable.
Of course, power like that, wealth like that, you have to fight for it. And if there is one thing Truth can do, it's fight!

Hooray! I've been Isekai'ed! Into a gameworld, with waifus everywhere! It's my greatest dream come true! Isekai'ed by... some kind of black robe guy. Who grabbed the wrong guy. And now I have to survive waves of monsters that want to do terrible things to me. Just... awful, awful things. And the game is a gacha game, so I'm desperately trying to earn money to pull for summons. Desperately trying to build fortifications. Furnish my Tower. Gear up. Deal with the existential horror that is life in a gacha game. Because even a weeaboo has a bottom line. And the necromancers who made this game? They gotta pay.
Base Building, summons, monsters, and a complete absence of harem for this guy who can't handle 3-D, all brought to you by the guy who made theo-punk a thing with Slumrat Rising.
Launching on RR March 25. Favorite now, so you don't miss a single chapter!
Doing a five chapters/day sprint for 3/25 and 3/26, two on the 27-28th, and one on the 29th. 1chap/day M-F after that.
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail.
Mazelton comes from a clan of radiation wizards who harvest the cores of living beings to power their magics, but he's not really in to it. Not that anybody cares about his opinion when they send entire armies to exterminate his family. He has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him to survive apocalypses. A world recovering from the last apocalypse should be easy.
Story is now complete, with occasional updates of epilogue chapters.
What does it take to climb out of the trash and into the sky?
The very heavens had decreed his death. He should have died in the womb. Or in infancy. Or when his family was murdered. Or when the house burned around him. Or when he woke up in the dump suffering from innumerable diseases and missing fingers. Even the magic ring with a ghostly grandpa trapped inside of it was sabotaged. A reasonable person would roll over and die. Tian isn't that reasonable. And as it happens, neither is Grandpa Jun. In a world where immortality can be cultivated, miracles are things you make for yourself. A broken boy will defy the heavens, and soar.
